Campaign Manager- Nikki Turner

G'Day,

My name is Nikki Turner and I am the 37-year-old wife of Dan Turner. We are coming into a decade of marriage in 2025, and what better way to celebrate our love than sending my husband off to sail the world, solo...

To get to know me a little bit more, I am an extrovert who loves to support Dan on all of his adventures.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychological Science and Sociology from The University of South Australia and my current job role is that of Senior Coordinator for the Escaping Violence Payment. I champion those who have recently experienced the trauma of family and domestic violence with the goal of removing barriers that clients currently face in accessing safe housing.

Dan has invited me along to all of his challenges and you will find me in the background, looking after a majority of the event logistics, preparation, communications, and on-the-day event safety and execution requirements, so Dan can successfully complete his goal and have someone he trusts to rely on.

My favourite adventure so far has been the Marathon Des Sables (2015) in Morocco, because it was culturally so very different from my Australian experiences and the language barrier was a shock, it ended up in Dan's stove being detained at the airport and nearly us along with it.

That is a story for another time and I invite you to get to know Dan and myself, as you watch this journey that will become a major part of our lives in 2025.

Shore Team Lead / Campaign Ambassador - Xavier Doerr

We are excited to have Xavier join the team to assist Nikki in managing the campaign from a technical perspective. Xavier brings a wealth of knowledge from his own offshore sailing campaigns and experience in small boat sailing.

Xavier is well-known and respected within the sailing community and brings positive vibes to any campaign he is involved with.
